Modesty is important. Dressing modestly is one the important aspects of modesty. It shows humbleness by not showing off extravagance and  also shows a form of decent behaviour. However those are not the important reasons. Do remember though that this post is to be targeted to a female audience. The more important reasons to dress modestly in today's modern context is to protect yourself from outrage of modesty, rape prevention & also amazingly, to extinguish a guy's sexual thoughts when he sees you. The last point is one I wish to elaborate upon because not many of you female know about this.

Supposedly you walk down a street with your cleavage hanging and long expose legs stuttering and you see this guy gawking at you at the corner of your eye. Your first thought would be why he is looking at you and this makes you feel uncomfortable. Isn't it so obvious that the guy is probably having wild fantasies about you? Now I'm not only saying that it's the lady's fault but partly the guy's fault for looking however I am saying that it's more of the lady's fault because it is much easier to dress modestly than to be able to control yourself of your sexual desires.

In the rapid urbanisation city called Singapore where culture, heritage & religion is fast vanishing, I've seen my fair share of women dressing openly. On average, I see somebody wearing a transparent clothe once a week & a woman's inter gluteal cleft once a month. Three quarters of the time my eyes would go on it's own discovery and the quarter I would see it by accidental. I really hate women dressing openly because sometimes it makes me want to look some more. I also hate it when women cover their cleavage when they want to pick up something they've dropped because it doesn't make sense when one dresses immodestly but acts modestly. Wow, sometimes I would just be given special powers to lock up all these women into a RUSTY CAGE.  Don't think I am an extremist for hating woman dressing sexily because from British's Sunday Times, in an article published on the 9th March of 2009, 1 out of 7 British citizens believe woman
should be beheaded for wearing revealling clothes & adding on,  in 2005 from British's Sunday Times, 26% of Britians feel that wearing revealing clothes is partially or totally responsible for them being raped.

So then how modest should a woman dress? I believe they should dress like how a Muslim woman dresses, which is wearing a hijab which covers everything  except the face and hands. They should not however wear a niqab which is a veil that covers your face except for your eyes, reason being that a woman's face does not give much sense of eroticism to a man & also because it is more troublesome. But then of course, why should non-Muslims wear like a Muslims? Nobody's forcing you but I strongly encourage and doesn't mean that you wear a hijab means you're a Muslim, any female can wear the hijab. If you don't feel like it then at least wear something that covers everything from your feet up to your neck.
